Download the injector

Beta builds of the FluxPlugs injector are published on GitHub for Windows and Linux (x64). Download the file for your system, check it, install it, then use it to install FluxPlugs into Fluxer.

Before you start, check that your Fluxer installation is one FluxPlugs can modify. See the requirements.

Pick the file

Section titled “Pick the file”

Open the FluxPlugs releases page and expand Assets under the newest release. Beta builds are marked Pre-release.

Your system Download the file ending in
Windows 10 or 11 _x64-setup.exe
Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint _amd64.deb
Fedora, openSUSE, other RPM systems .x86_64.rpm
Any other x64 Linux distribution .AppImage

Also download SHA256SUMS.txt from the same release.

Check the download

Section titled “Check the download”

The builds are not code-signed yet, so the checksum is how you confirm the file is the one the release published. Run the check in the folder you downloaded to.

In PowerShell:

Select-String -Path .\SHA256SUMS.txt -Pattern (Get-FileHash .\FluxPlugs_*_x64-setup.exe).Hash

If the file matches, the command prints its line from SHA256SUMS.txt. If it prints nothing, delete the file and download it again.

In a Linux shell:

sha256sum --check --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS.txt

Your file should be listed with OK.

Install it

Section titled “Install it”

Windows

Section titled “Windows”
  1. Open the _x64-setup.exe file.
  2. Because the installer is unsigned, Windows SmartScreen may show Windows protected your PC. Choose More info, check that the file name matches the one you verified, then choose Run anyway.
  3. Follow the installer. It installs for your account only and doesn’t ask for administrator rights.

Some antivirus programs flag new unsigned apps. Only allow the file if its checksum matched.

Linux

Section titled “Linux”

Install the package with your package manager, from the download folder:

For the AppImage, make it executable and run it:

./FluxPlugs_*.AppImage

Open the injector

Section titled “Open the injector”

Start FluxPlugs from the Start menu or your application launcher. You should see a FluxPlugs window with Scan for installs.

Continue to install FluxPlugs into Fluxer.

Beta limits

Section titled “Beta limits”
  • Builds are x64 only. There is no macOS build.
  • The injector doesn’t update itself. To update, install a newer release over the old one; see updates.
  • To run unreleased changes, build the injector from source instead.
